The New Threads Feature That Users Have Been Waiting For Has Been Released, Anything?
YOGYAKARTA Meta's text-based social media platform, Threads has just released a new feature that allows users to view chronological feeds of shipments from people they follow.
The addition of this feature will make Threads much more functional. Not a few observers believe this feature is a key feature that Threads needs to really compete with Twitter.
Not quite there, Threads also added a translation feature. This feature will make it easier for users to read posts in language that are not understood.
"Threads is starting to launch options for chronological feeds only from the people you follow and add translations. More to come," Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was quoted as saying by Gadgets Now.
Threads users can now view posts from other profiles in feeds in two ways, following and for you.
The Feed For You feature will show the user a mixed upload from the profile that has been selected to follow and the suggested account.
Meanwhile, if the Threads user selects the Following option, the post from the person being followed can be seen in chronological order.
Feed Following and For You features include features that users have been waiting for. The reason is, since its release, Threads has only displayed new threads in algorithmic feeds, both content from people who are followed and those who are not followed, and rarely sequentially.
Before the new feature is launched, users may always see a thread from the last few minutes, or one and two days ago.
To get the Following Feed feature, users must update to the latest version of Threads, although it may not appear immediately.
To switch between feed For You and Following', tap the Threads logo or the home icon and you can slide from one feed to another.
The second feature that Thread has just released is the Translation feature. Through the feature, it allows users to read posts in an unknown language.
With this feature added, uploads in Threads will now be translated automatically based on the language of writing and the language settings of people who view it.
"If you look at a different language, and your language is available as a translation, you can tap the translation button at the bottom right of the post or reply to view it," Meta said in the caption.
Just for additional information, before releasing the Feed For You and Translation features, Mete has added several other features to Threads. On the Activity tab, users can now filter notifications based on followers, replies, mentions, posts quoted, reposts, and interactions from verified accounts (or just choose to see all your notifications simultaneously).
Meta Platform Inc CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that his party would add other features to pamper Threads users, such as increased search functions, edited posts, full desktop mode, and the ability to limit who can reply to posts.
