The Ministry Of Health Has Distributed 3 Million Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine

JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that currently Indonesia only has 3 million doses of vaccine. Although, there has been cooperation with several vaccine producing companies regarding the procurement of around 200 million doses of vaccine.

"As of today, we already have 3 million (doses) of vaccine from Sinovac," Budi said in a webinar with the theme 'COVID-19 Vaccine for Indonesia Rises', Saturday, January 30.

In addition, Indonesia also has around 15 million raw materials for Sinovac vaccine. Later, the raw material will be processed into 12 million doses of vaccine. It is planned that the vaccine manufacturing process will be completed in mid-February.

"In the future, 12 million Sinovac vaccinations will be produced which will be completed in the second week of February," he said.

"So now we have 3 million that have been sent throughout Indonesia to be injected," continued Budi.

Then, another 15 million doses of vaccine will be prepared. It is hoped that the vaccine preparation process will be completed in March.

"We plan to prepare 15 million more (vaccine doses (again in March. So that is the schedule for 15 (million vaccine doses) in March, 12 million in February and now 3 million in January," he said.

Previously it was reported that Indonesia would have four types of COVID-19 vaccines from several countries. Of the four vaccines, the number is estimated at more than 200 million doses.

For the first vaccine, namely, Sinovak which is made by a company from China. In the cooperation that is made, Indonesia will receive 125 million doses of vaccine. Then, the Pfizer vaccine came from Germany.

The third vaccine received by the Indonesian government is AstraZeneca. This vaccine was imported from London. Finally, the Novakvax vaccine from American and Canadian companies. About 50 million doses of Novakvax vaccine will be imported to Indonesia.
