DVI Polri Identifies Body Of Captain Afwan, Regent Ade Yasin Prepares Funeral At TMP Pondok Rajeg

JAKARTA - The National Police's Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team has again identified the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 passengers. On the 20th day since the crash of this plane, 3 victims were identified, one of which was Captain Afwan.

The Regent of Bogor, West Java (West Java) Ade Yasin said he had received good news about Captain Afwan's identification. His party is now preparing a grave for the body of almahrum Afwan.

"The plan is to be buried in the Heroes Cemetery, Pondok Rajeg, Cibinong," said Ade Yasin, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 29.

The location of the tomb is not far from the house of almahrum Afwan, Bumi Cibinong Endah (BCE) Housing, Bogor Regency.

Ade Yasin said the family would pick up the body to the forensic room of the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, Jakarta on Saturday, January 30 morning. Then prayed at the BCE Complex Mosque, and buried during the day.

Previously, Ade Yasin had also visited Captain Afwan's residence after the plane crash incident to provide moral support to the family.

"As the Regent of Bogor and a neighbor, this is close to my house. This morning he came to give encouragement and motivation to the family because until now it is not clear what happened to him (Captain Afwan)," said Ade Yasin. He noted that Captain Afwan was the only resident of Bogor Regency on the SJ-182 plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route.

Captain Afwan is the pilot on the fateful flight. Apart from him, 2 passengers who were identified were Suyanto (40) and Riyanto (32). With the identification of these 3 people, the Police DVI Team has successfully identified 58 passengers.

"So until this afternoon the team has identified 58 bodies of 62 victims in total," explained Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono in a press conference at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta today.
