Visiting PP Muhammadiyah, National Police Discusses Prevention Of Radicalism To Handling COVID-19
JAKARTA - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, visited the Muhammadiyah Central Board (PP) office, Central Jakarta, Friday, January 29. During his visit, he discussed the matter of preventing radicalism and collaborating in handling COVID-19.
"There are many things, many activities and many programs that we have to carry out in the future, which of course we will be stronger if we are assisted by PP Muhammadiyah," said Listyo at the PP Muhammadiyah office, Central Jakarta, Friday, January 29.
For discussion of radicalism, said Listyo, Muhammadiyah said ways to face or prevent the spread of certain ideas. One of them is by using religious moderation.
"He said many things. How to face future challenges for our brothers and sisters who might be exposed to certain teachings," said Listyo.
"So understanding using religious moderation will certainly be much more beneficial than us taking hard approaches," he continued.
Meanwhile, for the cooperation in handling COVID-19, Listyo said that later Muhammadiyah would provide education related to the implementation of health protocols. So, the spread rate can be reduced as much as possible.
"Regarding other activities in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic situation, we also want to collaborate with PP Muhammadiyah. How in the future we can provide education related to enforcement of health protocol issues," he said.
