Anies Revitalizes Sudirman JPO, Equipped With Pinisi Ship Platform
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to revitalize the pedestrian bridge (JPO) on Jenderal Sudirman Road.
The revitalized JPO with a contemporary style is intended to promote active mobility, namely cyclists and pedestrians. This JPO will also encourage a mode shift from private transportation to low emission modes.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Highways Agency, Hari Nugroho said that the Sudirman JPO would be equipped with viewing platforms. At this platform, there will be a gallery of appreciation for COVID-19 fighters from health workers during 2020-2021.
"In the revitalization of Sudirman JPO, we are adding a gallery of appreciation for health workers, because of their services as the heroes of COVID-19. They are willing to die to treat COVID-19 patients who are getting out of control," Hari told VOI, Friday, January 29.
Apart from that, Hari said that the revitalization of Sudirman JPO was also carried out because the bridge structure needed repair. According to Hari, this development did not use Regional Government Budget (APBD) funds.
"This revitalization is non-APBD because it uses building floor coefficient funds (KLB)," said Hari.
The JPO, which is located in the CBD Karet Sudirman area, was built with a modern concept. There is a new hub that brings together pedestrians, cyclists, and users of public transportation.
This JPO is also equipped with a 3000 kg lift that can carry 8 bicycles as well as riders, as well as people with disabilities who need it, and is equipped with a bike lounge.
In the middle of the JPO, there is a gathering room with the theme of the Pinisi Ship, the community of Anjungan Pandang Jakarta. This JPO is also equipped with CCTV & load sensors on the bridge for security.
