Update On COVID-19 As Of January 29: New Cases Of 13,802, Accumulated Of 1,051,795 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 77,330 specimens were examined with the results of 13,802 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,051,795 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, January 29.

Today's cases increased by 10,138, so that a total of 852,260 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 187 people and a total of 29,518 people.

The province with the most new cases is in West Java with 3,835 cases and a total of 142,887 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 3,448 new cases with a total of 262,753 cases. Central Java has 1,495 new cases and a total of 123,003 cases. Then, East Java has 1,006 new cases and a total of 111,109 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,428 cases recovered. Followed by West Java with an increase of 2,238 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 1,013 recovered cases, and Banten with an increase of 926 recovered cases.

No province reported having no new cases as of today. The provinces that reported the fewest new cases were Bengkulu and Gorontalo with 16 new cases each.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 9,124,005. In detail, as many as 8,984,270 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 139,735 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 17.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, for the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 81,497 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
