The Kosan Kid Juki Animated Series Everything Goes On Today On Disney + Hotstar
JAKARTA - The animated film Si Juki was once one of Indonesia's animation prides. This film was developed from the comic made by Faza Meonk. Today, January 29th, animation fans can enjoy the series version entitled The Juki Anak Kosan at Disney + Hotstar.
According to Faza Meonk as the creator of Si Juki, the story presented in the series is very different from the comic version. The reason is, the stories in the comics are too short to be made as serials, so he remodeled the stories to make them longer in duration.
Si Juki Anak Kosan will run for 13 episodes with 12 minutes each. Each episode will tell Si Juki and his friends as boarders with various funny stories.
"We really make new stories. There are a few interesting stories taken from comics, but the rest are all new," explained Faza in a virtual press conference, 27 January.
In the voice section, this series no longer uses big actors as voice actors. At that time Indro Warkop, Bunga Citra Lestari, and Butet kertaradjasa became voice actors.
For the series, directors Daryl Wilson and Faza Meonk are looking for new talent by conducting closed-door auditions. They are looking for an amateur voice actor and then trained to be a suitable voice actor for the characters in the series Si Juki Anak Kosan.
The production of the animated series Si Juki Anak Kosan lasted for more than a year, but was stopped due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the production team continued the process by creating animations by working from home. The production process is reversed by recording the sound first, then creating the visuals.
Faza hopes that the appearance of the series Si Juki Anak Kosan will ignite the enthusiasm of Indonesian creators to follow in his footsteps. "I hope that with this animated series, more and more people will dare to invest in the animation series industry," said the man whose full name is Faza Ibnu Ubaidillah.
