Minister Of Religion Ensures That Borobudur Chatra Will Be Installed Soon
JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said Chatra Borobudur would soon be installed.
"It was agreed that Chatra Borobudur will soon be installed. This is good news for Buddhists and is an attraction for world tourists," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 21.
The Minister of Religion explained that Chatram is a kind of umbrella-shaped cover on the top stupa of Borobudur Temple.
Currently, Chatra is still being held at the Karmawibhangga Museum, Borobudur Temple Tourism Park.
"Well, if the Chatra is installed then this Borobudur will become more grand and complete. I hope this news can also be good news for Buddhists," said the Minister of Religion.
The National Coordination Meeting for the Development of Five Super Priority Tourism Destinations in Magelang, Central Java, was chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
The coordination meeting was attended by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Religion, Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Azwar Anas, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Hadi Tjahjanto, and Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo.

The meeting discussed the acceleration of the development of five super priority tourism destinations including Toba, Borobudur, Labuan Bajo-Flores, Mandalika, and Likupang.
Luhut said that Borobudur has great potential to attract tourists from within and outside the country.
"Borobudur is a very attractive destination for tourists. We will tidy up the Borobudur area. We will plant the cables later, and all the architectures involved in this destination ditourism must carry local wisdom," said Luhut.
