Jambi Provincial Government Distributes IDR 10 Million To Help Ponpes Education
JAKARTA - The Jambi Provincial Government (Pemprov) continues to strive to improve the quality of education. One of them is by providing educational funds for Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).
"The assistance is given to improve the quality of education for the local community in order to create superior Human Resources (HR)," said Jambi Governor Fachrori Umar in Jambi as quoted by Antara, Friday, January 29.
Educational assistance funds were channeled to Daarul Huffaazh Islamic Boarding School and in Batanghari Regency, Zulhijah Islamic Boarding School. Funds are collected by the local provincial National Zakat Agency (Baznas) and Bank 9 Jambi's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The funds given to each boarding school are IDR 10 million. Fachrori Umar hopes that the funds can be used as well as possible, as well as a motivation for the boarding school to improve the quality of education.
Education, he continued, must be interpreted as a long-term investment as a contribution to support the nation's competitiveness.
"Educational development is not only the responsibility of the government, but it is the responsibility of all parties, both private and government," said Fachrori.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Jambi, Syarif Fasha, gave his appreciation to the Jambi Provincial Baznas and Bank 9 for channeling education funds through the provincial government to Jambi City.
Syarif Fasha appealed to all business actors and the people of Jambi to be able to channel their zakat and infaq through Baznas, because the funds collected by Baznas will be given and channeled to residents who have the right to receive where Baznas is located.
"We urge the public and business actors in particular to distribute zakat and infaq through Baznas in their respective regions," said Syarif Fasha.
