PALANGKA RAYA - Palangka Raya City Police, Central Kalimantan investigated the cause of the burning of the City Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) office on Jalan Tjilik Riwut Km 3.5.

"Investigations are to find out the cause of the fire," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Palangka Raya Police, Kompol Ronny M Nababan, in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 20.

The police, he said, had installed a police line, so that the location of the building that caught fire on Wednesday, July 19, would not be damaged before the crime scene (TKP) was carried out.

There were no casualties in this incident. The police will ask for information from a number of eyewitnesses who know exactly what happened.

Meanwhile, based on Teguh's testimony, the security guard at the Palangka Raya City Bawaslu office, the fire was known to have emerged from the back building at around 04.45 WIB.

"At that time I was alone, then one of my colleagues did not come long to help put out the fire but the fire continued to grow," he said.

The fire continued to grow and the building of the Palangka Raya City Bawaslu office continued to be engulfed by the red rooster. The documents and office equipment in the office were not saved.

Not long after, firefighters (damkar) came to the scene after being contacted by residents. Officers who were at the scene immediately extinguished the fire.

In approximately an hour and a half, the fire can be tamed by the fire brigade team who are on standby in carrying out their duties at the scene.
