Threatened With Death Penalty, BNN RI Arrests 6 Suspects Of Smugglers 110 Kg Of Shabu
JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI) arrested 6 suspects for smuggling 110,400 grams or 110 kilograms of methamphetamine from two different locations in Indonesia.
The head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency, Komjen Petrus Reinhard Golose, said the first case occurred in the coastal areas of Laweung Beach, Muara Tiga, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province, with three suspects with the initials HE, R, and MF who were arrested.
"The three suspects were caught carrying methamphetamine using a Marijuana ship from the waters of Lengkawi Malaysia to Indonesian waters via the Laweung coast, Aceh Province," said Komjen Petrus to reporters, Tuesday, July 18.
The disclosure was carried out together with Customs and Excise of Aceh Province, BNN of Aceh Province, to BNN of Pidie City. Joint officers conducted a sweep of the Lampulo Beach area to Laweung Beach. In addition, in the areas of Banda Aceh City, Aceh Besar, Muara Tiga, Pidie to Ulim Pidi Jaya.
"Almost two weeks of sweeping was carried out until finally the joint team was able to apprehend the three suspects, Monday, June 19, 2023 when they were about to leave the coast of Laweung Beach, Aceh," he said.
The three suspects claimed to have submitted the evidence to three other men with the initials BUL (DPO), RAH (DPO) and BIR (DPO) in Kuala Beach, Laweung Beach.
Knowing further information, the joint team then secured four sacks of methamphetamine weighing 105,213 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
"At that time it was hidden behind a resident's house in the Jalan Gampong Masjid area, Muara Tiga District, Pidie Regency, Aceh, Tuesday, June 20, 2023," he said.

Meanwhile, in the Sanggau area, West Kalimantan on Friday, June 23, 2023, it was found that a vehicle carrying a total of 5,187 grams of crystal methamphetamine hidden in the left and right doors of the car.
"The vehicle was used by 3 (three) suspects with the initials HAR, MWA and JOH," he said.
The incident began when officers stopped the vehicle of the three suspects in the Jalan Tayan area, Sosok Village, Tayan Hulu, Sanggau, West Kalimantan.
Then, the BNN Team also conducted a search of the perpetrator's boarding house located on Jalan MT. Haryono, Akcaya, South Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
"From the results of the search, officers confiscated several cellphones as evidence of conversations about transactions carried out by the three perpetrators," he said.
The suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 lo Article 132 paragraph 1 and Article 112 paragraph 2 Jo Article 132 of Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum threat of the death penalty or life imprisonment.
