Kapolri: Report If Members Do Not Cooperate With NU Kiai

JAKARTA - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, instructed all members of the National Police to respect and cooperate with the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) kiai. If there are members who do not carry out the instructions, it can be reported.

"Later, if anyone does not want to (cooperate), here is the Head of the Propam Division. Just report it. So if the public is happy, the police are afraid of the Head of Propam Division," Listyo Sigit said at PBNU, Jakarta, Thursday, January 28.

The instructions were issued because many things were done together. One of them is about maintaining security and public order with community organizations.

"So the law is obligatory to invite NU to cooperate. So feel free to then coordinate with the Kapolsek and Kapolres in the region. Because I am sure there are many programs that can be cooperated regarding the maintenance of social security," he explained.

Listyo Sigit said that if there were members of the National Police who did not respect the NU kiai, they would not respect him. This is because he is now considered a member of Nahdliyin.

"For NU colleagues who are in the region, even up to the branch level. If there are police chiefs, police chiefs, and police chiefs who don't want to meet with NU kiai, it means they don't respect me as a Nahdliyin resident," he said.
