A Total Of 45 Foreigners Are Being Immigrated Because Of Overstays In South Jakarta, Nigeria-China The Most

JAKARTA - The Class I Immigration Office for Non-Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) of South Jakarta until mid-2023 has taken action against 45 foreign nationals (WNA) through a joint operation of a foreign surveillance team (timpora).

"Until the middle of 2023, the South Jakarta Immigration Office has carried out immigration administrative measures (TAK) against 45 foreign nationals," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Kemenkumham Regional Office, Ibnu Chuldun, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, July 15.

Ibnu explained that most of the immigration violations of foreigners had more than 60 overstay problems. Most foreigners come from Nigeria, China and Kyrgyzstan.

He gave an example, recently taking action against seven foreigners who live in Casablanca Apartments and Casablanca Mansion Apartments.

"The purpose of this team is to deal with the rise of issues that have the potential to disrupt national security which is our responsibility," he said.

Similarly, the Head of the Class I Immigration Office for Non-TPI South Jakarta, Feluka Sengky Ratna, added that the timpora was a manifestation of synergy between agencies.

Moreover, he continued, this joint operation will continue to be carried out regularly as part of law enforcement efforts by the South Jakarta Immigration Office.

"It is hoped that every personnel involved will always coordinate and be sensitive to any indication of violations by foreigners," said Sengky.

The team's activities collaborated with a number of related agencies such as the police, prosecutor's office, TNI, BIN, the ranks of the South Jakarta City Administration government to BNN and the South Jakarta Immigration Office.

Thus, the existence of surveillance activities for foreigners is able to show the comprehensive synergy of every element in creating a safe and comfortable living environment for the residents of South Jakarta.

Previously, the Class I Immigration Office for Non-TPI South Jakarta through the Pora team supervised two foreign refugee shelters (community houses) in the Pancoran and Setiabudi areas.
