Update On COVID-19 As Of January 28: A Record Of 476 People Died, The Most Is In West Java
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 82,676 specimens were examined with the results that there were 13,695 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,037,993 people," as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Thursday, January 28.
Today's recovery cases have increased by 10,792 cases so that a total of 842,122 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 476 people with total of 29,331 people.
Today, the death rate has reached a new record. The province with the highest death rate was in West Java with 200 cases.
The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 4,532 cases and the total is 139,052 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 2,889 new cases with a total of 259,305 cases. Central Java has 1,507 new cases with total of 121,508 cases. Then, East Java has 1,022 new cases with total of 110,103 cases.
The province with the most recovery cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,731 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 2,290 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 1,347 recovered cases and East Java with an increase of 851 recovered cases.
There is one province that reported no new cases as of today. The province that reported zero new cases is Papua.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 9,046,675. In detail, 8,907,452 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 139,223 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate is 17.2 percent," he wrote.
