Xbox Is Selling Well, Microsoft Is Making A Fortune
JAKARTA - Microsoft presented its latest financial report for the final quarter of 2020. In this report, Microsoft's revenue has reached US $ 43.1 billion (equivalent to IDR 606.5 trillion). This income increased by 17 percent from the previous.
These financial records were higher than the earnings predicted by analysts of USD 2.9 billion (equivalent to IDR 40 trillion). Meanwhile, the company's revenue has increased by up to 33 percent, reaching IDR 218 trillion.
The company received this revenue from the sales of its products, such as Office, cloud services, PCs and Xbox consoles. According to reports, Xbox sales have increased 40 percent, while sales of these gaming devices have reached 86 percent.
This increase in Xbox sales was due to the pandemic. The coronavirus that has spread throughout the world has made many people stay at home. This situation has made some people look for entertainment facilities, one of which is by buying the latest Xbox consoles, the S and X series.
It's not just the Xbox console that has had a significant growth rate. Other products, such as Office also increased by 11 percent. The revenue from Office also saw an increase of 7 percent.
As for cloud services, the Azure platform can increase by 50 percent, and revenue from cloud computing services reaches 26 percent. On the other hand, search and advertising services also grew 2 percent, as reported by Microsoft's official website, Wednesday, January 27.
Income from PCs and laptops also increased by 1 percent. Meanwhile, revenue generated from entertainment services such as Xbox Windows and Surface also rose to 14 percent. The service achievement amounted to US $ 15.1 billion (equivalent to IDR 212.5 trillion).
