Dark Mode Comes First For The Lite Version Of Facebook
JAKARTA - The dark mode feature is currently a trending topic for various cellphone applications. Not to forget that Facebook has also started developing a dark mode in its application.
It's just not the main application that gets the dark mode feature update, but the Lite version of Facebook. Same is the case with WhatsApp Beta which first tried dark mode.
Launching from 9to5Google, at least Facebook is the first application that already has a dark mode even though it's only the Lite version. In this mode, Facebook Lite's color display will change to a dark theme in almost all applications, from feeds to profiles to settings.
This dark mode is present on Facebook Lite version 185.0.0.6.118. This feature will automatically be found in the "settings" menu after the user has made an update.
To use dark mode on Facebook Lite is quite easy. Users only need to press the three line mark on the rightmost tab option option, then a dark mode will appear and then just activate it.
Unlike the dark mode in other applications. The interface display of Facebook Lite when in dark mode will tend to be gray rather than solid black.
In fact, this light version of Facebook cuts a number of key features of Mark Zuckerberg's platform, with a less animated display so that it doesn't burden the operating system. In comparison, the main Facebook app is 39MB, the Lite version is just under 2MB.
Seeing the difference in system size and storage space, maybe Facebook Lite is deemed suitable for testing dark mode before applying it to the main application. Moreover, Facebook has also released a dark mode feature on the Beta version of WhatsApp.
Some applications that already have a dark mode, such as, Evernote, Google Calendar, Pinterest, Telegram, Waze, YouTube and the Twitter blue bird logo application. This dark theme option makes devices with OLED or AMOLED screens less draining battery consumption.
