Prabowo Subanto Airlangga Hartarto Proposed West Java Projo As A Presidential Candidate - Vice Presidential Candidate 2024

Pro Jokowi Volunteers (Projo) for West Java agreed to propose the Prabowo Subianto-Airlangga Hartarto pair as candidates for president and vice president in 2024. This decision was agreed upon at the Regional Conference (Konferda) of the West Java Projo DPD in Bandung.

The chairman of the West Java Projo DPD, Djoni Suherman, admitted that Prabowo-Airlangga was supported by the majority of the votes of the DPC Projo throughout West Java. He said there were 16 DPCs who participated in the Projo Conference in Bandung.

"We have 16 DPCs present, 9 to Prabowo-Airlangga, 4 to Ganjar-Prabowo and Prabowo itself, there are 1 and Prabowo-Ganjar with Erick Thohir 1. So we are quite dynamic, everything is there and finally the most is Prabowo-Airlangga," said Djoni, Sunday (9/7/2023).

He added that before making the decision to choose the figures of the General Chairperson of Gerindra and the chairman of the Golkar Party as the presidential and vice presidential candidates, there was a tough debate between Projo volunteers. However, the majority of DPC Projo throughout West Java finally agreed on a candidate pair Prabowo-Airlangga to be proposed at the Projo National Working Meeting forum in Jakarta.

According to Djoni, the Prabowo-Airlangga candidate pair reminded the duo of the Indonesian founding fathers, Soekarno-Mohammad Hatta.

"We see that Prabowo-Airlangga is like Soekarno and Hatta, in the economic sector and if we look at Airlangga, it has been tested when we face COVID-19, our economy is quite stable compared to other countries. Because he is an economist, well, we'll see his track record like that," said Djoni.

West Java Projo DPD adviser Anton Charliyan said the proposal for the candidate pair Prabowo-Airlangga had become the decision of Projo volunteers in West Java.

Anton admitted that Prabowo's name was indeed dominantly chosen by Projo volunteers to be supported as a potential presidential candidate in 2024. Although, in a number of areas, there are different names of prospective Vice Presidential Candidates.

Because, apart from the names of Airlangga, other potential names supported to become Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate are Ganjar Pranowo and Erick Thohir.

"I think other areas will be different but judging from the average results, there is Mr. Prabowo Subianto and Airlangga, there are also those with Mr. Ganjar Pranowo who are also with Erick Thohir," he said.
