Tourism Holding Containing Angkasa Pura, Garuda Indonesia Etc. Ready To Gaspol Transport For International Tourists

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has finalized the formation of the BUMN Tourism Holding. The purpose of establishing the holding is to accelerate the increase in the number of foreign tourists in Indonesia.

Deputy Minister of BUMN II Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that the acceleration of foreign tourists is another instrument in driving economic growth after recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"With the BUMN holding program, we will quickly increase and accelerate tourism as the backbone of economic growth after post-recovery," he said at the 'Economy Recovery: How to Accelerate Economic Growth' event, Wednesday, January 27.

Tiko, his nickname, said that in its implementation, the Ministry of BUMN collaborates with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf). Currently the two parties have coordinated regarding the readiness of the BUMN Tourism Holding.

This BUMN holding combines a number of state-owned companies operating in the tourism and transportation sectors. Inside there are six state-owned companies and their subsidiaries.

The six are PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Inna Hotels & Resorts, PT Sarinah (Persero), Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), and Taman Wisata Candi (TWC). ). Meanwhile, PT Penas Air Survey was appointed as the holding holding.

Tiko noted, the holding was formed to support the development of the tourism ecosystem. Especially in the five destinations that were designated as super priority destinations.

The five super priority destinations chosen to become Indonesian tourism icons on the world stage are: Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara; Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara; Lake Toba, North Sumatra; Likupang, North Sulawesi, and Borobudur, Central Java.

"We hope that the tourism ecosystem under BUMN, which has airports, airlines, and various supporting facilities such as IDTC tourism areas, hotels can be a catalyst for tourism in Indonesia after COVID. We are working with the Ministry of Tourism," he said.
