Update On COVID-19 As Of January 27: A Record Of 387 People Died, The Most Is In Central Java And West Java

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 77,788 specimens were examined with the results that there were 11,948 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,024,298 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, January 27.

Today, there are 10,974 cases recovered, so that a total of 831,330 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 387 people and a total of 28,855 people.

Today, the death toll has reached a new record. Provinces with the highest number of deaths were in Central Java with 108 cases and West Java with 106 cases.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 3,198 cases and a total of 134,520 cases. DKI Jakarta followed with 1,836 new cases with a total of 256,416 cases. Central Java has 1,797 new cases and a total of 120,001 cases. Then, East Java has 1,064 new cases and a total of 109,081 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,970 cases recovered. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,800 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 1,650 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 929 recovered cases.

No province reported having no new cases as of today. Provinces that reported the fewest new cases were Gorontalo and Maluku with 1 case each.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 8,959,395. In detail, as many as 8,820,646 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 138,749 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 17.1 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 81,589 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
