Hanura Party Cadre Suspect In The Case Of Uploading A Photo of Natalius Pigai With A Gorilla Is Detained
JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Agency of National Police (Bareskrim Polri) detained Hanura Party cadre Ambroncius Nababan for the next 20 days. Detention related to the case of Natalius Pigai's photo posting next to a gorilla was carried out based on the interests of the investigator.
"Starting from January 27 to February 15, 2021. So the next 20 days at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency state detention house," said the Head of Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas), Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Wednesday, January 27.
The detention of Ambroncius, said Rusdi, was based on a detention warrant number SPHan/18/I/2021/ Directorate of Cyber Crime.
In addition, the reason for Ambroncius' detention was because the article he was suspected had met the elements that could be detained.
"Therefore, investigators consider for the sake of investigation, then also based on the results of the examination, sufficient evidence is obtained and the suspect is also strongly suspected of having committed a criminal act which is subject to detention," he said.
Ambroncius Nababan is charged with Article 45A paragraph (2) Jo Article 28 paragraph (2) Law Number 19 Year 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 Year 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, and/or Article 16 Jo Article 4 letter b paragraph (1) of Law Number 40 of 2008 concerning the elimination of racial and ethnic discrimination and/or Article 156 of the Criminal Code.
