Jokowi: The Regulations On Derivative Work Creation Law Completed Next Week, Domestic And Foreign Investors Enthusiastic
JAKARTA - The government is currently focusing on attracting domestic and foreign investors. This is an effort to accelerate economic recovery in the medium and long term. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that the derivative regulations for the Job Creation Law will be completed next week.
The derivative rules are in the form of draft government regulations (RPP) and draft presidential regulations (Raperpres).
"Currently the PP and Perpres required for implementation are in the finalization stage and maybe in the next few weeks they will be completed soon", he said, at the 'Economy Recovery: How to Accelerate Economic Growth' event, Wednesday, January 27.
The head of state claims that the derivative regulations on the Job Creation Law will make the implementation of reform and structural transformation possible immediately. He guarantees that the implementation will run well so that the objectives of the issuance of the regulation can be achieved.
In fact, Jokowi said that the enthusiasm of investors was high in responding to the issuance of the Job Creation Law because it could improve the investment climate. In addition, it can increase the competitiveness of national industries to compete in international markets.
"The enthusiasm of domestic and foreign investors also seems to be increasing after the issuance of this Job Creation Law", he said.
On the other hand, this will enable Indonesia to increase the flow of investment into the country, particularly in the form of environmentally friendly investments from upstream to downstream. One of them is the plan to build the electric car and battery industry.
Furthermore, Jokowi wants the two industries to operate immediately and be large in Indonesia. According to Jokowi, environmentally friendly investment needs to be achieved because future market demand is more targeting low-carbon and efficient green products.
"Green product, green economy that is low carbon and efficient will be the prima donna of the industry in the future. This green economy will become social inclusion. The spirit of equalizing social equality, reducing environmental risks, resource efficiency, I think we will continue to develop and anticipate in the future", he said.
Not to forget, Jokowi sees investment capital as important for Indonesia to establish itself in the global supply chain.
"This will be a signal that Indonesia will become an influential and respected motor for future industrial development", he said.
