Police Secure ODGJ Perpetrators Of Stabbing Talang Market Vendors Banjar Jambi
JAMBI - Police arrested a man with a mental disorder (ODGJ) who stabbed a market trader in the Talang Banjar area, Jambi City.
"For the perpetrators of the persecution, it is suspected that ODGJ has been secured and coordinated with the Jambi City Social Service (Dinsos)," he said.
Jambi Police Chief Kombes Eko Wahyudi was quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 2.
The stabbing occurred on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at around 17.00 WIB. The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital (RS) assisted by residents. From the circulating photo, the victim suffered a stab wound to the face.
Meanwhile, East Jambi Police Chief Kompol Yumika Putra said the alleged perpetrator ODGJ had been arrested.
"It has been handed over to the Jambi City Social Service for follow-up. For victims, treatment is assisted by the Social Service," he said.
The stabbing perpetrator has now been taken to the Jambi Mental Hospital (RSJ). Head of the Jambi City Social Service Noviarman said his party had taken the person concerned to the Jambi Mental Hospital (RSJ).
"The perpetrator was escorted to be treated there (RSJ)," he said.
Noviarman also advised the public to take lessons from this incident and be careful if they find ODGJ.
He advised that if they meet with ODGJ, residents should report to the Jambi City Government's call center 112 so that it can be handled immediately.
