Police Arrest 1,311 People On 4th Day Of Brutal Demonstration In France
JAKARTA - French police arrested 1,311 people across the country during a brutal demonstration over the death of a teenager continued into the fourth night, the Ministry of Home Affairs said, Saturday (1/7).
About 4,500 police-backed armored vehicles were deployed to defuse a series of protests, which included burning trash and cars as well as building damage.
Launching Antara, Sunday, the ministry revealed that overnight there were 79 security officers - including the police - who were injured.

The police are facing a formal investigation and have been detained.
The United Nations (UN) agency expressed concern over the brutal shooting by police and asked France to address "in-depth racism and discrimination issues" at their law enforcement agencies.
