Sultan HB X Prepares Assistance Funds For Handling The Impact Of The Bantul Earthquake
YOGYAKARTA - Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X prepared assistance funds for handling the impact of the earthquake in Bantul with a magnitude of 6.0.
Sultan Hamengku Buwono (HB) X said that each disaster-affected district could utilize emergency funds first.
"Later, if we don't help," said Ngarsa Dalem as Sultan HB X was quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 1.
According to Sultan, districts still have a different allocation of emergency funds, such as in Bantul Regency amounting to Rp. 14 billion and Gunungkidul Rp. 5 billion.
"But actually it's not just like that. They can still live in their homes or not, in the sense that they are supplied with consumption for food and so on, but the report has not yet reached that," said the King of the Yogyakarta Palace.
Based on reports received, according to the Sultan, the earthquake on Friday night (30/6) resulted in damage to buildings, all of which were relatively categorized as light.
"All of them are lightly damaged. Only the most are in Gunungkidul," said Sultan HB X.
BPBD DIY recorded the impact of damage caused by the Bantul earthquake based on the latest data reaching 172 units spread across Gunungkidul, Kulon Progo, Bantul, and Sleman Regencies.
"The total impact (corruption due to the earthquake) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta is 172 units," said Acting Head of BPBD DIY Danang Samsurizal.
Danang explained that the 172 units of damage included 137 houses, 133 of which were lightly damaged and four were moderately damaged.
Next 14 units of office facilities (13 units lightly damaged and one unit moderately damaged), five units of worship facilities lightly damaged, two units of business premises lightly damaged, one unit of health facilities lightly damaged, three units of educational facilities lightly damaged, and three units of livestock cages each lightly, moderately damaged, and severely damaged.
"Light damage also occurred in three units of the power grid, one unit of electric pole, and three units of public facilities," said Danang.
