Joint SAR Operation TNI Successfully Save 9 Passengers KM LCT Bahana Putra
JAKARTA - The joint SAR operation of the TNI managed to save 9 passengers of KM LCT Bahana Putra who were missing in the waters of Mayau Batang Dua Island, Ternate City. One passenger was declared missing in this incident.
The SAR operation carried out by the TNI together to find the victims of the sinking of KM LCT Bahana Putra has yielded positive results. Of the total 10 passengers, 9 were successfully evacuated safely, while 1 person has been found dead and 1 person is still being searched.
Kapuspen TNI, Admiral TNI Julius Widjojono, at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday, June 26, confirmed that this incident occurred on Monday, June 19. KM LCT Bahana Putra, which was carrying 10 passengers on the Manokwari - Bitung route, North Sulawesi, sank in the waters of Batang Dua Island. The captain of the ship, Buchari Sahafin (66 years old), was declared dead, while another passenger, Yokzafil Novsan (23 years old), is still missing.
Kapuspen TNI explained that the search for victims of KM LCT Bahana Putra had entered its 7th day. According to the Basarnas Law, the maximum search period has passed. The TNI has coordinated with the ship and the victim's family. The TNI Kapuspen also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the joint SAR TNI Team for working optimally.
