Bima District Attorney Investigates Asset Management Case At Komodo Hotel
MATARAM - The Bima District Attorney, West Nusa Tenggara, is investigating a case of asset management of the Bima Regency Government in the form of land and buildings for the Komodo Hotel.
The Head of Specific Crime Section of Bima District Attorney (Kasi Pidsus Kejari) Syafruddin said the investigation was carried out regarding the hotel management which was still ongoing since the agreement was completed in 2002.
"So now it is still in the process (of investigation)," said Syafruddin as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 26.
Komodo Hotel which is an asset of the Bima Regency Government is located on Sultan Ibrahim Street, Paruga Village, West Rasanae District, Bima City.
In accordance with the clause of the agreement, the hotel was managed by Maman Sirad from 1987 to 2002. The annual rental value is IDR 1.5 million, which is deposited by the management to the Bima Regency Government.
This issue has previously been discussed in the 'legal opinion' from the civil and state administration sector (datun) of the prosecutor's office.
In their study, the assets were declared to have expired and the management should have been returned to the government.
Therefore, the management that continued from 2002 to 2020 was declared illegal because it ran without any legal basis for further agreements.
"So we wait for the civil case to be resolved first. If so, then we can determine the direction of the investigation," he said.
Nevertheless, Syafruddin emphasized that his party had taken the testimonies of a number of witnesses and also collected documents related to asset management and the flow of lease payments.
"From there we look for whether there is any corruption or not," he said.
