Supporting The KBLBB Program, The Ministry Of Industry Increases The Capacity Of Workshop IKM Through Bimtek
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has increased the capacity and ability of small and medium-sized industries (IKM) for two-wheeled workshops to support the development of the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) ecosystem in the country.
Through technical guidance activities (bimtek), it is hoped that two-wheeled workshop IKM can become a conversion workshop from conventional vehicles to electric vehicles.
"Some time ago, the Ministry of Industry has carried out Technical Guidance Activities (bimtek) for Electric Vehicle Conversion for Two-Wheel Workshop IKM in Central Java. This activity is also a form of support from the Ministry of Industry for government programs to achieve the net zero emissions target by 2060," said Director General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (Dirjen IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry Reni Yanita in Jakarta, quoted Friday, June 23.
In this technical guidance activity, the Ministry of Industry driven by the Directorate General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (Ditjen IKMA) continues to remind the perpetrators of the workshop IKM to understand the requirements for becoming a conversion service workshop.
The reason is that the conversion process of conventional vehicles into electric vehicles can only be carried out by workshops that have pocketed certificates as official workshops for installation, maintenance, inspection of installation equipment for electric motor drive systems in motorized vehicles from the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).
Meanwhile, the Director of Small and Medium Industries for Metal, Machinery, Electronics and Transportation Equipment of the Directorate General of IKMA at the Ministry of Industry, Dini Hanggandari, added that the bimtek activity for conversion of electric vehicles in Central Java was attended by 20 IKM for workshops from Surakarta City and Sukoharjo Regency.
"The main goal is to improve understanding and competence of Human Resources (HR) for two-wheeled workshop IKM related to policies and techniques for converting electric motorcycles," said Dini.
Dini said that the motorcycle conversion program also provided a positive impetus for the transportation industry in Indonesia in order to be able to produce the components needed to convert conventional motorcycles into electric motorcycles.
According to him, currently the gross direct current (BLDC) of motorcycles as one of the main components in KBLBB has been able to be produced by the local transportation industry, including by PT Mitrametal Perkasa through the AZN Motor brand. The motorcycle BLDC product has a TKDN certificate with a TKDN value of 61.24 percent.
In implementing the Bimtek, the Conversion of Electric Vehicles for Two-Wheel Workshop IKM in Central Java, the Directorate General of IKMA of the Ministry of Industry also collaborated with the Surakarta City Cooperatives, SMEs and Industry Office, and PT. Mitrametal Perkasa which has been able to produce a gross direct current (BLDC).

"We believe that we will strive to increase the competitiveness of IKM in the era of battery-based electric vehicles together with the involvement of all relevant parties," he said.
Previously, the Directorate General of IKMA of the Ministry of Industry had also carried out various activities to accelerate electric vehicles in the country, including conducting technical guidance on electric bicycles and electric motorbikes for IKM in the Provinces of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and Bali, assisting in the manufacture of prototype electric bicycles in NTB, and having exhibited two-wheeled electric vehicles in Bali.
In addition, it has also implemented technical guidance on improving the ability of IKM transportation equipment, and facilitating machinery/equipment in the context of developing electric motorcycles in Purbalingga Regency, Central Java.
