24 Illegal PMI Candidates From Lampung And 4 From Mataram Failed To Work In The UAE Returned
NTB - Lampung Police have illegally repatriated four prospective Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) from Mataram who want to go to work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
"The return of the four illegal CPMIs from Mataram City together with 24 other CPMIs from NTB Province on Friday (June 16), was carried out by the Lampung Regional Police," said Head of the Mataram City Manpower Office Rudi Suryawan in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Thursday, June 22, confiscated by Antara.
Rudi conveyed that the Mataram City Manpower Office in the near future scheduled visits to each of the four PMI candidates to fail to depart.
"God willing, tomorrow we will go to the village and the families of each CPMI to check directly on their condition," he said.
He said that four PMI candidates from Mataram were named Nurul Aini, a resident of Dayan Peken Ampenan Village with the aim of working in the city in the UAE, Dubai.
In addition, Istiani from Dasan Cermen Village, Ratmi from Pegerangan Barat Village, and Nila Sulfiana from Karang Taliwang Village.
"The last three PMI candidates have the same goal, namely to Saudi Arabia," he said.
He said, with the additional PMI candidates who were sent home, the accumulated number of PMI candidates who were sent home from January to June 16, 2023 was 14 people.
"That number is higher than the cases in 2022, as many as 11 people," he said.
Related to that, to avoid adding similar cases, in the near future the Manpower Office will again go down to disseminate information to the sub-district head, village head, and neighborhood head throughout the city of Mataram.
"We will immediately arrange a schedule for socialization to 50 urban villages, to inform the authorities to be more optimal in preventing illegal PMI candidates," he said.
In the socialization activity, the Mataram Manpower Office will also provide data on companies that already have permits and jobs in destination countries.
"The data can be used as a reference so that village officials and selective environments provide recommendations for residents who want to become PMI candidates. Hopefully, there will be no more PMI candidates departing from illegal companies that will eventually be abandoned and sent home," he said.
