Entering Endemic, The Role And Function Of The COVID-19 Handling Task Force Is Adhoc
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Prof. Wiku Adisasmito said the role and function of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force is adhoc or temporary which can at any time be adjusted to the needs of the government when it enters the endemic period. "The task force that handles COVID-19 is an adhoc institution that was formed to handle public health emergencies in Indonesia," said Wiku Adisasmito in a press conference that was followed in the network (online) quoted by ANTARA, Thursday 22 June. As an adhoc institution, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force which has played a role in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic for more than three years is bound to a certain period of working time or is temporary. However, as the handling of COVID-19 is increasingly controlled and improving in the country, said Wiku, the function and role of the task force will also be adjusted. Related to that, Wiku asked the public to look forward to updating policies from the government that will regulate further this matter. "Please the media are waiting for further updates from the government," he said. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Affairs (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy during a press conference on leave with Eid al-Adha at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry of PMK, Jakarta, said the COVID-19 Handling Task Force would automatically be dissolved in line with the revocation of the pandemic status by President Joko Widodo.
