Children Of Bodom Former Bassists's New Band, Releases Single Song Blood Looks Cool

JAKARTA - Moon Shot, an alternative rock band starring Children of Bodom former bassist, Henri "Henkka T. Blacksmith" Seppälä, released the music video for their new song Blood Looks Cool.

Bodom fans, beware - this is far from the melodic death musical element you've heard from the bassist for almost 25 years. However, the guitar tapping melody in the intro will bring a sense of familiarity, as well as an anthemic, rock - based on the structure of the song contained in Bodom's last record, Hexed (2019).

"Blood Looks Cool is a song for outsiders," said singer Ville Malja (also of the Finnish alt-rock group Lapko) regarding the follow-up to Moon Shot's first single, Big Bang.

"For those who feel they don't belong. It's a positive battle song about social differences."

Guitarist Jussi Ylikoski added, "Moon Shot is something completely new, made from scratch. This formation, the new songs, the team behind us. It's amazing and makes me humble. I feel lucky to be alive and be a part of it, at this moment, at this age. Can't wait to get on stage."

In January 2020, Seppälä shared a post on the Children of Bodom Facebook page announcing that he had joined a new band.

Seppälä said he initially had no intention of pursuing music again after leaving Bodom in 2019. "I'm pretty sure nothing inspires me enough," Seppälä said in the statement.

"But then the most unexpected thing happened; news of my situation reached three certain people who were brainstorming in Helsinki to find a suitable partner for the bass in their new group."

"The idea of a new band was scary, not only musically but also because it came so quickly after the biggest and most terrifying decision of my life," continued Seppälä.

"At the same time I see it as a gift, a new opportunity to make music with friends, a musician whose career I love to follow with admiration. I don't want to miss this rare opportunity."
