Smith / Kotzen Collaboration Debut Album Of Two Powerful Guitarists Released In March
JAKARTA - Smith/Kotzen, the electrifying collaboration between guitarist and vocalist Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen, will release their self-titled debut album on March 26 via BMG.
This part-time neighbor in Los Angeles is full-time friends with mutual respect. Both musicians are experienced players on the global stage who have created unique original music throughout their careers.
The debut song Taking My Chances has set a hallmark in this collaboration. Recorded at Turks & Caicos in early 2020, the song stirs up classic 1970s rock bands, playing loudly with powerful hooks, harmonies, and high-tech guitar playing.
Smith is best known as one of Iron Maiden's lead guitarists, also enjoying success as a solo artist. Kotzen is the vocalist for The Winery Dogs and has also been the guitarist for Posion and Mr. Big during his long and famous career. To date, he has released more than 20 solo albums.
Both of these artists are also prolific songwriters.
"I think Richie and I complement each other very well. He's a virtuoso guitarist but he has a great sense of melody - everything feels very natural," Smith said as reported by Blabbermouth, Tuesday, January 26.
"We find similarities in classic rock and blues-based music - we both come from that mentality. We've been writing and recording together for the past year and I'm happy with the results," Kotzen added.
