Uploaded By Hanura Party Cadre Ambroncius Nababan, Who Was Threatened With Punishment

JAKARTA - Hanura Party cadre Ambroncius Nababan has to face the law because he was reported on suspicion of hate speech using racial elements on social media. Through his Facebook account, he insulted Papuan activist Natalius Pigai by juxtaposing him with a picture of a gorilla.

Even that post was considered an insult. So that the West Papua National Youth Committee (KNPI) (PB) reported it to the West Papua Police with the report number LP / 17 / I / 2021 / West Papua.

However, not long after that the handling of the case was transferred to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit. So, the investigator immediately sent a summons for examination of Ambroncius Nababan.

This summons for Ambrocius Nababan Number: S.Pgl / 38/2021 / Dittipidsiber. During this examination, Ambrocius was still a witness.

"We have already been summoned. In the next few days we will be summoned to face investigators from the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Monday, January 25.

However, Rusdi could not confirm the timing of the examination. He only said that the examination of the Hanura party cadres would be carried out as soon as possible.

"The summons are already there, as soon as possible," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, added that the reason behind the delegation of handling of this case was because the alleged perpetrator carried out the action in Jakarta. So, it was decided to withdraw this case to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

"Why was it delegated? It is suspected from the Cyber analysis that it was the one who was in Jakarta. That's why the LP was delegated to Bareskrim Polri," said Argo.

For this reason, Bareskrim coordinates with the West Papua and Papua Regional Police to delegate cases. There are 2 police reports related to this case.

"First, from the West Papua Police, a report was reported to the West Papua Regional Police. The first was on behalf of Mr. Sitanggang, the reporter, the second was the LP also in West Papua, the report was Mr. Thomas Barung. There are 2 prisons," he said.

Later, in handling this case, the Criminal Investigator will summon Ambroncius Nababan. Apart from that, the statements of witnesses and experts will also be asked for information regarding this matter.

"Of course from Cyber will conduct an investigation first regarding the existence of the LP. Of course later from Cyber will call or clarify according to the existing SOP. Then we will also ask for information from experts and other witnesses," he said.

"Incidentally, for those who are suspected of having Facebook, we have sent a summons today for those who have uploaded about racism. It has been made by Siber Bareskrim to make summons, we have submitted it to those concerned," he continued.

Not long after the National Police delivered this statement, Ambroncius Nababan came to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit. His arrival was to fulfill a call that was apparently scheduled for January 25.

However, before undergoing examination, Ambroncius gave a statement saying that his post had no intention of insulting.

"There is nothing (racist). (Only to) criticize," said Ambroncius.

The criticism, said Ambroncius, was directed at Natalius Pigai because he did not believe in the Sinivac vaccine. But his disbelief was expelled to the public. So, it can interfere with government programs.

"That Pak Pugai helps you if you disagree with Sinovac, it doesn't matter. Everyone can disagree, but don't expose you that you don't believe in Sinovac. And (mentioning) I will buy products from abroad. That's a provocation. , that's the bottom line, "he explained

Regardless of the reasons behind it, Ambroncius admitted that the post was indeed his doing. However, he emphasized that the gorilla image juxtaposed with Natalius Pigai's photo was said to have been obtained from one of his colleagues.

"And actually that picture, I actually quoted it, I copied it. It coincided, I found Fatimah's (account) apparently. She posted that too but it didn't say she was racism and I looked for others, apparently many of them. But never people say it is racist. But why am I the copas, people mine are considered racist, "he said.

In fact, it was reiterated that the post was just a criticism and a joke. So, it is not intended to insult anyone or the Papuan people.

"(Gorilla image) yes someone else's post. I see this is a good post. So I do not have the thought that it carries the name Papua because in my title there is no Papuan words," he said.

"The conversation I made. I admit I made it. Its nature is satire, satirical criticism. If intelligent people know that satire is a joke, it is not intended to insult people, let alone insult ethnicity and religion, it is not there, far away, let alone insulting people. Papua, "continued Ambroncius.

Natalius Pigai, who was attacked by racism from Hanura Party politician Ambroncius on social media, complained to the Secretary of Defense of the United States (US), Lloyd Austin. Austin was the first black person to be appointed US Secretary of Defense.

In his Twitter account, Pigai drew attention to Austin at the racism attack on him. Pigai also said that for more than 50 years, people of African Melanesian descent have been slowly tortured.

"I'm proud of you, Mr. @LloydAustin, the toughest African-American black man in the world. We have been fighting Indonesian collective (state) racism against African Melanesian (Papuan) blacks for more than 50 years. Torture, murder & slow genocide. We need attention, "Pigai wrote in his Twitter account @ NataliusPigai2 on Sunday, January 24.
