JAKARTA - Holding BUMN Hospital PT Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC) has set a target for Bali International Hospital or BIH, in the Special Economic Zone (KEK) Health, Sanur, Bali, will operate in the second quarter of next year.
"Bali International Hospital is designed as a medical tourism service in Indonesia, plans to operate in the second quarter of 2024," said IHC President Director drg Mira Dyah Wahyuni, written Monday, June 19.
In its operation, said Dyah, the IHC also collaborated with the Mayo Clinic, which is the number 1 best hospital in the United States and trusted in the world health industry, the goal is to provide the best service quality for the Indonesian people with international standards.
"IHC in preparing for the operation of Bali International Hospital is supported by advanced technology and has a center of excellence or center of excellence abbreviated as CONGO (Cardiology, Oncology, Neorology, Gastroentero-Hepatology, Orthopedic), coupled with Medical Check Up (MCU) services and diagnostic centers that ensure comprehensive health services," he explained.
Bali International Hospital's Advantages
Dyah said, BIH stands on an area of 5 hectares with 4 floors and 260 wards and has an environmentally friendly or green hospital concept with 183 trees around it. In addition, the number of trees that were relocated was 123 trees to avoid felling trees in the hospital area.
Another advantage of Bali International Hospital is being in the Bali Health SEZ area which provides convenience for diaspora health workers so that they can practice in the Health SEZ area.
"As well as easy access to drugs and medical devices with BPOM permits in the Health SEZ area to meet the needs of patients with diseases such as cancers who generally still go abroad due to limited medicines," he explained.
As is known, the construction of this hospital is motivated by the fact that there are still 2 million Indonesians who are still abroad for treatment.
Another advantage, said Dyah, is that Bali International Hospital with a green hospital concept involves the use of environmentally friendly designs, materials, technology, and practices to reduce negative impacts on the environment.
"By implementing this concept, BIH operationally can reduce waste, increase energy efficiency and create sustainable environmentally friendly practices. This is also not only short-term investment in cost savings, but also long-term investments in public health and concern for the environment," he said.
The ease of health services is also supported by the Regulation of the Ministry of Health (Permenkes) No. 1 of 2023 dated January 4, 2023 regarding the implementation of health service businesses at the Health SEZ.
Previously, the groundbreaking of Bali International Hospital was attended and led directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, and other relevant ministers in December 2021.
SOE Minister Erick Thohir said that through the BUMN Hospital Holding, it is hoped that it will not only provide convenience for health services to the community but also strengthen national health resilience.
According to Erick, the role of the BUMN Hospital Holding is expected to be able to increase its role in maintaining national health resilience which can be realized through four strategic objectives, namely the provision of quality health services, network improvement and scale, development of capability and innovation, as well as integration and collaboration of the national health ecosystem.
