Testing Of The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train Now Reaches 300 Km Per Hour

JAKARTA - The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Rail Testing (KCJB) continues to approach its operation in August.

Testing with a comprehensive inspection train (CIT) or inspection train on the KCJB line has crossed 300 kilometers (Km) per hour.

This test was followed by Deputy Minister II of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Deputy for Investment and Mining Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Septian Hario Seto, Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation Mohamad Risal Wasal, President Director of KCIC Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi, President Director of KAI Didiek Hartantyo.

Manager of Corporate Communication of PT Kerarata Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) Emir Monti said the achievement of the peak speed was due to improvements in infrastructure such as lanes, electricity, signaling, increased safety factors, as well as routine monitoring and evaluation.

Today's testing went very smoothly even though the weather was raining heavily along the KCJB route. At today's test, the KCJB Inspection Train was able to penetrate speeds of up to 300 kph very stable. We will continue to add the peak speed gradually," Emir said in an official statement, Friday, June 16.

Emir said the success of testing reaching 300 km/hour safely and smoothly is a good progress in the preparation stages for the operation of KCJB.

"Testing will continue to be carried out with full caution where the KCJB rate will gradually be increased to reach its operational speed peak at 350 km per hour to the peak of its technical speed at 385 km/hour," he said.

As a mode of public transportation, said Emir, it is certain that KCJB will implement high safety standards to provide a sense of security to all passengers.

Therefore, KCIC together with the Ministry of Transportation also continues to prepare certification as a sign that KCJB is operated safely and according to the regulations set.

In terms of security, continued Emir, KCIC has also collaborated with the TNI and Polri to maintain various points that are prone to disturbances.

Apart from the operational side, KCIC also continues to make preparations in the field of human resources.

Parallel employee recruitment and training continue to be carried out in various regions to get the best human resources in the country.

"KCIC together with all stakeholders continue to focus on testing in order to present Southeast Asia's first safe and comfortable fast train," Emir concluded.
