Not Selling Well, Apple Cuts Production Numbers For The IPhone 12 Mini
JAKARTA - Three months after the launch of the iPhone 12 Series, the sales performance of the iPhone 12 Mini in the United States (US) is said to be not very satisfying or not reaching the target.
Therefore, Apple will reportedly reduce the production of the iPhone 12 Mini and increase the production of the iPhone 12 Pro.
Based on a report from Morgan Stanley Investment, this step was taken by Apple because the demand for the iPhone 12 Pro was actually higher than the iPhone 12 Mini.

Therefore, Apple cuts production of the iPhone 12 Mini by 2 million units and that number was shifted to the capacity of the iPhone 12 Pro product in the first quarter of 2021.
The time from placing orders to factory delivery for the iPhone 12 Pro has also been shortened to 10 days from 22 days. This is the fastest time for an iPhone model launched in the last four years.
While the reduction in production of the Mini version of the iPhone 12 will not have a big impact on Apple, because this model only accounts for 6 percent of total sales of the iPhone 12 Series.
However, sales in China are in contrast to the US. In China, it is the non-pro iPhone 12 model that is claimed to be more in demand than the pro version.
In the Asian region, Morgan Stanley said that the iPhone 12 has a market share of 20.3 percent, which is the highest achievement for the last 18 months.
As a reference, at the launch last October, the iPhone 12 Mini was sold at prices starting at US $ 699 (IDR 9.8 million), while the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max were sold at a higher price, starting from US $ 999 (IDR14 million).
In Indonesia, the price of the iPhone 12 Mini itself is sold at prices starting from IDR 13 million, while the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max are sold starting at IDR 18.5 million.
