Slipknot Guitarist Jim Root Hasn't Unboxed The Guitar He Got 10 Years Ago
JAKARTA - It turns out that guitarists don't always play the guitar they get right away. Sometimes, the guitar has been in the box for more than a decade. This is the case for 11 years between Slipknot guitarists, Jim Root, and Gibson.
"The shipping date was on May 2010. So. 10th year anniversary ... seems like a good reason to open it, right? Oh. Wait. It's '21. '20 shouldn't count (due to the COVID-19 pandemic). So yeah. Could be that 'thing'. Could or not It's possible that another Firebird that happens to be Silverburst. Maybe I'll never know. ”

Instead of unlocking the guitar at the age of 10, Root told Loudwire he was spending time during his 2020 quarantine planning solo projects.
Slipknot is unlikely to be back for a while after they have finished touring in support of the album We Are Not Your Kind. Their performance at the Hammersonic Festival, which is planned to be held this January, must be postponed to March next year.
To that end, Root had the creative freedom to explore new ideas during that break.
