Ministry Of PUPR Budgets For Improvement Of JLT Lumajang Rp55 Billion
LUMAJANG - The central government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has budgeted Rp55 billion to repair the damage to the East Ring Road (JLT) in Lumajang Regency, East Java, as a whole.
Sejumlah kerusakan di ruas Jalan Lingkar Timur (JLT) Kabupaten Lumajang segera diperbaiki secara menyeluruh yang akan dilakukan oleh pemerintah pusat dan ditargetkan selesai pada Juli 2023.
"The central government has allocated funds for the repair of JLT through the Presidential Instruction program for Regional Road Development of Rp55 billion," said Head of Highways Division of the Lumajang Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, Heri Kurniawan, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 7.
Meanwhile, quoted from the www.pu.go.id page, it is stated that the road repair refers to the direction of President Joko Widodo as stated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 3 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Improvement of Regional Road Connectivity, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Highways will immediately start accelerating development for regional roads that are the government's priority.
Then PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono also mentioned that the Regional Road Inpres aims to handle damaged non-national roads and improve the absorption of regional roads throughout Indonesia through the assistance of the State Budget.
"We will immediately carry out the President's order by starting a job tender in May 2023, so that June or no later than July can begin to improve the condition of the road," he said.

A number of roads in JLT suffered severe damage because they were passed by vehicles that exceeded the tonnage of district roads, so that this condition became a special concern for the Lumajang Regency Government and a policy was issued to prohibit large vehicles from crossing the JLT.
The Lumajang Regency Government will repair all the damage to a number of roads on JLT, but this is done in stages.
After repairing the road, vehicles passing through JLT are vehicles that match the tonnage, so the road is more durable and not easily damaged.
