Joint Officers Put Out 26 Hectares Of Burned Land In South Barito
JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that joint officers had extinguished 26 hectares of burned land in South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan.
Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari reported that the forest and land fires (karhutla) occurred at two points, namely in Kawein Village and Manggari Village.
"Padaman pada hari Jumat (2/6) pukul 10.30 WIB," kata Abdul dilansir ANTARA, Senin, 5 Juni.
Karhutla at the first point, namely in Kalein Village, precisely on Jalan Soekarno Hatta Lintas Buntok-Palangkaraya, scorched 25 hectares of land owned by residents who carried out large-scale free cuts.
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Barito Regency reported that the burning land was peat-type land with a type of shrub vegetation and weeds.
The Rapid Response Team (TRC) together with personnel from the Karhutla Disaster Emergency Alert Post in South Barito Regency immediately rushed to the location to extinguish the fire. Officers alerted one BPBD patrol car, one 8,000 liter tank, ninegepyok and other fire fighting support tools.
"After making efforts to extinguish the fire using a jarpyok and floating pump engine, the fire was successfully extinguished at 17.15 WIB," he said.
Karhutla at the second point occurred in Manggari Village, South Hamlet, South Barito Regency, scorched about one hectare of land owned by residents. Even at this point, the burned land is a type of peatland with the type of shrub vegetation and weeds.

Efforts to extinguish the fire at this point, TRC together with BPBD have again alerted two pickup cars and six clumps. In addition, the South Barito Fire Department alerted two fire trucks, one 4000 liter water tank, and other fire extinguishing tools. The effort to extinguish the fire at this point was completed at 17.00 WIB.
The latest reports in the two locations have been conducive and there have been no casualties as a result of this incident.
"In response to this incident, BNPB urges local governments and the public to remain vigilant by continuing to increase preparedness. Residents can follow the instructions of the officers on guard and the local BPBD to get evacuation sites as long as there is still a fire, and report to the local BPBD if they see hotspots or smoke, so that fire point prevention can be carried out early on," he said.
