Gerindra Visits PAN Headquarters Today, Prabowo And Zulhas Not Present

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) PAN Yandri Susanto said the Gerindra Party's gathering with the PAN DPP would discuss opportunities for political cooperation in facing the 2024 presidential election.

"Yes, that's what we want to discuss what the opportunity for cooperation is or not," said Yandri in a statement in Jakarta, Monday, June 5, which was confiscated by Antara.

During the meeting, the PAN DPP will receive a visit from the Gerindra Party DPP in the context of gathering ahead of the 2024 General Election.

Yandri said that Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto and PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan alias Zulhas were unable to attend today's gathering.

"Today Mr. Probowo is not present, Bang Zul may also not be present, this is at the level of the deputy chairman and the secretary general," he said when met at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, June 5.

He explained that the Gerindra Party DPP visit to the PAN DPP was a follow-up to the visit of PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan who had visited Prabowo Subianto's residence in Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, Saturday (8/4).

"Today we received it at the PAN DPP as a follow-up for Bang Zul's visit about 2 months ago at Pak Prabowo's house," he said.

Just like the previous meeting, the PAN DPP meeting with the Gerindra Party DPP this time also discussed the possibility of opportunities for the two parties to carry out political cooperation.

"Well, this is what needs to be discussed later this afternoon, although in my opinion, it may be necessary to have the next meetings," he said.

He said that PAN is open to providing support for three options in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, namely Ganjar Pranowo, Prabowo Subianto, and the duet of the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto-Zulkifli Hasan.

"This means that PAN has not yet decided with whom. I said earlier that with Prabowo it was stuck, with Pak Ganjar stuck, Airlangga-Zulkifli Hasan axis was an alternative," he said.

According to him, if there are four pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election, there will most likely be two rounds.

"Later, we may count again if we enter the second round of cooperation with whom, if it doesn't come in, we will count again," he said.

Earlier on Saturday, April 8, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan arrived at the residence of Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto in the context of friendship and following up on the idea of building a major coalition between the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) and the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR).

Zulkifli Hasan said he was ready to be the driving force for the National Coalition and hoped that this grand coalition could become a reality.

"I'm really ready to be anything, come here and there to knit this so that it can come true. There is a solid, strong middle ground to advance Indonesia," Zulhas told reporters in Kertanegara 4, South Jakarta.
