South Coast Of Bantul Will Be Developed Into A Special Economic Zone
BANTUL - The Bantul Regency Government, Yogyakarta Special Region, stated that the southern coast of the area in its territory will be developed into a special economic zone to increase the economic growth of coastal communities.
"This will be a special economic zone for the southern coast of Bantul and of course there will be an institution that will manage the area", said Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, June 4.
According to him, institutions that manage, including building facilities and infrastructure as well as facilities in the southern coastal area of Bantul, can be from the DIY Regional Government (Pemda) and from Bantul Regency.
"Later, when it is finished, it is clear that tourist visits on the southern coast of Bantul will certainly increase, because more accessibility, tourists from East Java (East Java) can come directly here, from West Java and directly here," he said.
He said this was because the southern cross road route (JJLS) in the DIY area, which is currently in the process of completing the construction, will be completed soon and will be connected to the southern coastal route from Banten Province to East Java Province.
"This means that access to tourist objects in the southern region is more open and easy, close to Yogyakarta and Yogyakarta International Airport, of course the government will prepare human resource facilities and infrastructure that will manage this tourist attraction," he said.
Furthermore, the Regent said that there will be tourist attractions in the southern coastal area, in addition to those managed by local governments, some are managed by the village government through tourism awareness groups (pokdarwis).
"We will organize more comprehensively the southern coastal area, with the aim of increasing economic growth and people's welfare," he said.
Moreover, said the Regent, in the Bantul area, there is a Kretek II Bridge that crosses the Opak River and has become an iconic building in Bantul. The bridge was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on Friday.
"This year the Srandakan Bridge will also be built this year, so that later Bantul will become a very important southern route, because there is an iconic building and is close to Parangtritis Beach tourism," he said.
