Prabowo Calls The Compromise Between Countries A Solution To Reach World Prosperity
JAKARTA - Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto said that compromise between countries is the only solution that can be taken to achieve world prosperity. Prabowo conveyed this in response to warnings from experts who said the world in the 21st century would face various threats, ranging from energy, water crisis, to food security. "It is very important for us to overcome geopolitical competition, regional disputes, through dialogue, negotiations, and mutually beneficial solutions," Prabowo said at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue 20th Asia Security Summit, Singapore, Saturday (3/6), quoted from Antara, Sunday. Prabowo explained that actually the tradition of compromise is commonly used in Asia. Therefore, according to him, this tradition can now be applied more broadly to guarantee the prosperity of the world in the future. "The history of humanity teaches us that compromise and coexistence are the only possible way to achieve prosperity," he explained.
In the agenda, Prabowo also highlighted the ongoing tensions in a number of regions in the world. However, he admits that he remains optimistic as long as all parties are willing to open up to solving the problem together. "In the context of tensions in our part of the world and in the Indo-Pacific region, and other parts of the world, I myself have a more optimistic view. Let's be fully open," said Prabowo.
