Adhi Karya-Shimizu Is Working On The HI-Monas Roundabout Route MRT

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government is officially collaborating with a contractor collaboration (joint venture) between Adhi Karya and a Japanese contractor, Shimizu, in continuing the construction of the Integrated Moda Raya (MRT) with the HI Roundabout route to Monas.

This route is one of the packages from phase 2a, namely the CP201 package. The route continues the underground station from the HI Roundabout to the north, namely Thamrin and Monas.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan underlined that the planning and construction of the HI-Monas roundabout MRT is considered more complicated than phase 1. Even though, the HI-Lebak Bulus roundabout MRT route is longer than phase 2.

"The 2.8 km phase has challenges that are not simple. This involves strategic areas and natural challenges that are not simple," said Anies in the HI Roundabout area, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 17.

President Director of PT MRT Jakarta William Sabandar went on to be clearer about the technical challenges that will be faced in building the HI-Monas roundabout MRT. It is this extra challenge that causes the work to take a long time, namely 58 months.

First, said William, the work must be more careful because it will pass through many cultural heritage buildings such as Monas, the West Merdeka area, and the Old City. Given, the building must not be damaged or moved.

In addition, the soil structure in the North Jakarta area is getting soft. This is due to the large number of river flows that empties into the sea.

"We are utilizing the free space area above the Ciliwung river. The challenge is how to place the traffic (the MRT route), but it does not interfere with the flow at the Ciliwung river," William explained.

Reflecting on his experience, Wiiam admits that his party does not want to repeat year-long traffic jams such as the construction of the MRT phase 1 along the protocol road. Not to mention, the central government has banned any traffic engineering on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.

"Learning from the situation, we avoided the inconvenience in phase 2. We will not disturb the main road. For example, on the Ciliwung River we will place a deck, so that even though we work on the side of Jalan Gajah Mada, the vehicle will still run. on the road to the Ciliwung deck, "he said.

For information, the HI-Monas Roundabout MRT project costs IDR 4.5 trillion to work. Work started from March 2020 and is targeted to be completed in December 2024.

Following this, there will be the construction of a CP 202 package with the Harmoni MRT Station, Mangga Besar and Sawah Besar routes. Furthermore, there will be the construction of the CP 203 package with routes from Glodok Station and Kota. Total phase 2a is 6 kilometers consisting of 7 stations.
