Bareskrim Immediately Assign Fruit Import Permit Case Suspect
JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri will conduct a case on the alleged illegal practice of processing fruit import permits at the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Trade. The title of this case is carried out after the investigator has collected witness testimony and evidence.
"Later, it will be equipped with (evidence) and the elements will be fulfilled. Then a case title will be carried out which will determine the suspect," said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Friday, January 22.
This case was investigated because of the process of providing Horticultural Product Import Recommendations (RIPH) for fruit and vegetables that were suspected of having problems.
In the investigation process, the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes (Dittipideksus) has asked for information from a number of parties. Some of them are from the relevant ministries.
"Several witnesses have been examined from the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Trade," he said.
In this case, it is suspected that the process of granting fruit import permits only benefits certain parties and involves cartels. Meanwhile, for small importers the permit is still too long to be pocketed.
