This Morocco-based Manufacturer Is Ready To Compete To Enliven EV Markets Starting In 2026

JAKARTA - In this era electric vehicles were produced by several prominent manufacturers from the United States, Europe, China and South Korea. However, this trend has also prompted the development of the electric car industry in various countries around the world. For example, even countries in Africa have taken steps towards electrification with the emergence of brands such as the Atlas E-Mobility Group.

With competition dominated by these countries, the Atlas E-Mobility Group, as one of the African manufacturers, is moving forward to expand penetration of electric cars in the market. This brand represents a positive effort from the car industry in Africa to adopt more environmentally friendly and sustainable technology.

Reporting from Inside EV, Jum'at, May 26, the manufacturer plans to launch the first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) which will be designed in early 2026.

Headquartered in London, England, Atlas E-Mobility Group plans advanced production and development facilities in Morocco. Although previously producing electric buses or motorcycles, the Anglo-Maroko company has never produced a mass-passenging EV developed on the black continent.

Atlas CEO Mohammed Yehya El Bekkali said the African continent felt neglected in EV development. However, he warned not to doubt the technology from the African continent to free up carbon energy.

"No one should underestimate the determination of the continent to advance or doubt its ability to produce the leading zero-carbon-free technology solution in the world," said Yehya.

The presence of this African manufacturer certainly attracts attention, especially considering Atlas's young age which was founded in 2021. However, they will face difficult challenges, given that several large manufacturers have released electric car models with impressive performance. Therefore, Atlas needs to present something unique and different for their products to attract consumers and compete in this competitive market.
