He was happy and honored to be able to develop in the entertainment industry. In the midst of his busy schedule with BLACKPINK, he was also proud to be present at The Idol premiere with Abel Tesfaye, Levinson, Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan and others.
"It's impressive but I'm grateful. All these feelings are at the same time, especially this is the starting point of my acting career, I feel honored to be able to come," said the woman whose real name is Jennie Kim, launching WWD.
I have admired Sam's work for a long time. I believe Sam collaborates with all the scenes we do together because it's about industry," he said.
The Idol tells the life of a pop star who is involved with a mentor who also turns out to be a sect leader.
"The fact that this tells the music industry makes me interested and I think I can bring something into its role," Jennie explained.
The industrial story in question is not about the international music industry but also close to the K-pop world. Jennie admitted that she did not really prepare her role on a large scale because she was asked to be herself.
"This is an opportunity to be brave and be myself. I don't practice or prepare anything. Sam wants me to be myself," said Jennie.
The Solo singer also heard advice from Lily Rose-Depp, co-star and fellow Chanel ambassadors.
"This is certainly a challenge because I've never done it before. It's like destroying my wall. He (Lily) really helped me. Tell me about the scene and it's very comfortable for him to be there," he continued.
BLACKPINK's Jennie appeared in The Idol series which is scheduled to air on June 4. She will act with the name Jennie Ruby Jane. Meanwhile, she will be on a tour to Thailand with BLACKPINK, and a number of countries until the middle of the year.
