North Sulawesi Attorney Holds Suspect In The Corruption Case Of The Minut Wave Breaking Project, State Losses Of Rp.8.8 Billion

MANADO - North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) High Prosecutor's Office has arrested a suspect in a suspected corruption case in a wave breaker project in North Minahasa Regency (Minut).

"Today, the suspect AMP alias Alex is being held for 50 years," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Attorney General's Office Theodorus Rumampukdi Manado, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 21.

Theodorus said the detention of the suspect was based on the Detention Order Number Print-01 / P.1 / Fd.1 / 01/2021 dated January 21, 2021 signed by the Head of the North Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office A. Dita Prawitaningsih.

The suspect was detained at the Manado Police Detention Center for 20 days from 21 January to 9 February 2021.

The suspect is suspected of having committed a criminal act of corruption in a wave break / landfill project in Likupang Village at the North Minahasa District Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) for the 2016 Fiscal Year which caused state financial losses of around Rp.8.8 billion.

The suspect is threatened by Article 2 paragraph (1) jo. Article 3 jo. Article 15 jo. Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with. Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

In the case of alleged corruption in the wave breaker and beach dumping project in Likupang Village at the BPBD Minahasa Utara FY 2016, the state financial loss was around Rp.8.8 billion. The prosecution named a number of suspects.

The suspects were respectively JT Former Director of Emergency Response BNPB 2016, RT as KPA, SHS as PPK and RM as contractor and had undergone trial in court.
