The Worldwide Ordered Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

JAKARTA - There have not been 72 hours since the launch of Samsung to hold the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event. Not only were the Galaxy S20 trio introduced, Samsung also introduced its latest foldable mobile device, the Galaxy Z Flip.

The Galaxy Z Flip is sold at a price range of IDR 21 million for Samsung's latest generation folding screen phone. This price is slightly cheaper by a few million, compared to the Galaxy Fold.

"Galaxy Z Flip also enters Indonesia, pre-orders directly with the Galaxy S20, the price is Rp. 21,888 million. If the Fold is Rp. 30,888 million," said Denny Galant as Head of Product Marketing at Samsung Indonesia during the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco, USA. as quoted from Detikcom.

Cellphones, which reportedly claimed to be sold out, have opened the pre-order line since Wednesday morning. Even though it has been sold well, it didn't take long for Samsung to re-stock the Galaxy Z Flip again.

Denny added that the price of the Galaxy Z Flip foldable cellphone is different from the Galaxy Fold folding tablet. Although both have a clamshell style, they are quite different in terms of design.

Not only in Indonesia, the Galaxy Z Flip was also reportedly sold out in its home country, South Korea. Reporting from JoongAng Daily, this second foldable device from Samsung Electonics is sold together with SK Telecom, KT, and LG U + service providers.

These three service providers sell the Galaxy Z Flip for 1.65 million won or 1,400 United States (US) dollars. At the first sale, LG U + reported that they managed to sell within 30 minutes even though the company refused to disclose their initial stock.

The folding devices are sold through various places including the Samsung website, physical stores and their own service providers. Reportedly, as many as 20,000 units will be distributed in the first week. This figure is far greater than the total distribution of the Galaxy Fold.

This week, Samsung announced the release of the Z Flip which will be available in the United States and South Korea since February 14th. Z Flip comes in three colors - purple, black and gold. Even so, until now the gold color is not yet available in the market and Samsung has not announced where the Z Flip gold will be sold.

Z Flip has also collaborated with Thom Browne's clothing line to present a special Z Flip Thom Browne Edition. What distinguishes it from the regular Z Flip is that Thom Browne's signature colors red, white and navy blue will adorn the device. Selling starting at 2 million won, the Z Flip Thom Browne Edition will be available starting February 21.
