Reshuffle Of The Board Of Directors And Commissioners Of BSI, Minister Of SOEs: We Hear Public Complaints

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir reshuffled the board of directors and commissioners of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This reshuffle, said Erick, was a form of evaluation of the network disruption incident some time ago.

"We have heard so many disappointments and complaints from the public. BSI's reputation as a bank that is the backbone of the sharia economic ecosystem must be properly maintained," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, May 23.

"As leaders, of course we must be firm in making decisions. Do not let it damage trust and harm the community," he continued.

Furthermore, Erick admitted that he always intensely monitors every development that occurs in every BUMN, including the events that occurred in BSI. He assessed that disruption to BSI is something that cannot be tolerated.

Once again, BSI's reputation must be maintained properly. This is an evaluation material and we don't want it to happen again. Mitigation of the risk of using technology in the financial sector must be very strict," he said.

Therefore, Erick asked the new board of directors and commissioners to improve the company's overall operating system, including strengthening security and network systems from hacker threats and improving services to customers.

In fact, Erick admitted that he did not hesitate to return to reshuffle if there was no comprehensive improvement.

"I have advised to really take care of BSI because it belongs to all people and has great potential in the Indonesian economy in the future," said Erick.
