YouTube's Storage Capacity Is Full If YouTubers Upload Videos Often

JAKARTA - YouTube is the largest video sharing platform in the world. Many internet users spend their time watching videos uploaded to YouTube.

Not a few YouTubers regularly upload their videos to YouTube, whether it's Vlogs, gadget or vehicle reviews, to online game streaming shows. So, will YouTube's storage capacity run out or be full, if YouTubers often upload videos?

The answer is, no. The reason is, Youtube is part of Google, so their storage media will both use the Cloud-based Google Data Center.

Google's cloud data centers are spread almost all over the world and have been online since 2017. Apart from being located in the United States, Western Europe and East Asia, Google also has new Cloud data centers in Frankfurt, London, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney and Sao Paulo.

These include several other areas in Finland, California, the Netherlands, and Northern Virginia. Indonesia was also chosen to be the 9th data center built by Google in Asia-Pacific.

"Google Cloud is here to support your digital transformation with the same technology, like our other products such as Google Search and Gmail," said CEO of Google and Alphabet Sundar Pichai in his keynote speech, Wednesday, June 24 last year.

According to Pichai, the presence of this data center will cut latency or lower data access lag in using Google Cloud services. Where this service has spread in 24 regions and 27 zones in 17 countries around the world.

So what is the capacity of each data center that Google is building? The answer, no one can confirm accurately. Summarized from various sources, the capacity that this Google data center can accommodate can store 10-15 Exabytes of data (1 Exabytes = 1 Million Terabytes)

Of course, Google also allocates data storage space for YouTube, which is certainly not small. Given that youtube is a data-consuming platform.

Even statistically, it is recorded that up to now as many as 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute. Nearly 5 billion videos are watched on Youtube every day and more than 30 million visitors per day. As summarized from the Biographon page.

This means that assuming Google will add data centers along with the increase in storage needs. Of course, YouTubers don't need to worry about data storage space from uploaded videos.
