Police Name A 25-year-old Man Suspect In The Ambush Of The Cartenz Peace Task Force In Yahukimo End Of 1 Died

The National Police have named the man with the initials AS (25) as a suspect in the shooting in Yahukimo Regency that killed Bripda GAP, a member of the Mobile Brigade of the Cartenz Peace Task Force.

Police Public Relations Division Karopenmas Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said the US was suspected of being involved in the cause of the death of Bripda GAP and two other Brimob members who were injured on November 30, 2022.

"AS was named a suspect in the case and detained for further proceedings," said Ramadhan in his statement, Sunday, May 21, quoted by Antara.

Ramadhan explained that the US was one of 22 people who were detained by Yahukimo Police and the Cartenz Peace Task Force during a raid on a house suspected of being the location of the persecution in Yahukimo Regency on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

"22 people have been arrested at the Yahukimo Police Station, it was found that one of the people arrested on behalf of the 25-year-old US who was involved in the shooting of a member of the Cartenz Peace Operations Preventive Task Force," said Ramadhan.

From the results of the examination of the US, the police found the fact that he had joined the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by KTH since 2021.

"In 2021, the US bought firearms from Brother H in exchange for 20 grams of gold, which was then handed over to KTH on March 3, 2022," said Ramadhan.

The shooting of Brimob members was carried out using a short-barreled homemade firearm, a type of mauser weapon, three double-loop firearms, four machetes, and three arrows.

"The shooting was aimed at taking the firearm held by Brimob members who were shot," he said.
